For more than 20 years, the focus of Christopher O’Shaughnessy’s practice has been on construction and commercial litigation, representing general contractors, design professionals, owners, developers and subcontractors in all aspects of construction and construction dispute-related matters across the country. Clients lean on O’Shaughnessy as their trial attorney, transactional counselor, advocate and mediator.
O’Shaughnessy’s practice emphasizes public and private construction law, real estate, oil and gas litigation, and related areas of commercial litigation. In this capacity, he has served as lead trial lawyer on numerous cases involving hundreds of millions of dollars. He also serves as a trusted advisor on sophisticated projects involving billions of dollars in construction costs and as lead counsel trying cases before various state and federal courts as well as arbitration panels.
O’Shaughnessy’s expertise also extends to general commercial litigation and advising on businesses on risk-management issues. In addition to providing regular client trainings, he frequently presents on construction law topics, including speaking to industry and trade groups such as the Associated General Contractors of Ohio and The Ohio State University.
